2012 Artist Application

The Society of Expressive Artists (SEA) is a group of local artists that reside in quaint coastal communities along Florida panhandle. The goal of the group is to provide a forum for local artists to promote their work, share ideas and opportunities, to network with other artist organizations, and to identify and create art exhibit venues.

Dear Artist,

Each February the Mexico Beach Gumbo Cook-Off brings thousands of people to the area and when the gumbo is gone (usually by noon) they’re still looking for something fun to do. Many asking “what’s there to do now?” This year S.E.A. (Society of Expressive Artists) will sponsor a juried Art Walk at various locations on Highway 98 throughout the city of Mexico Beach in conjunction with the Cook-Off on February 18, 2012.  This is a great opportunity to showcase your work. And, if you are not a member a perfect opportunity to join S.E.A.  Space is limited so please register early. 

The following are the Rules for Participation:

1. All art will be art that is solely created by the artist.  No kits or pre-made items will be accepted.

2. Artists are responsible for their own set-up (tables, tents, easels, etc.) and will be assigned locations by SEA.

1. All levels of participation require a completed entry form and photos of 2 pieces of work to be sold to be sent to sea.us.net@gmail.com. Entry form and payment or deposit (details below) are required no later than January 20, 2012.  Notification of acceptance will be emailed by January 27, 2012.
   A discount will be applicable to all entries postmarked and paid in full by January 13, 2012.

2. Entry fees for participation are:

1. $10.00 for current SEA members ($5.00 if paid in advance)

2. $40.00 for artists who wish to participate and join the association ($35.00 if paid in advance)

3. $25.00 for artists who wish to participate, but not join the association ($20.00 if paid in advance).  

4. If fee is not paid in advance a $5.00 deposit is due, no later than January 20, 2012 to secure your space.

3. Entry forms are due no later than January 20, 2012. 

4. Artists shall sell their work outright, collecting the entire fee and be responsible for collection and payment of all applicable State of Florida sales taxes.

5. Artists will be responsible for setup, display, and attending their display area.

6. Times for the art walk are 11:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Central Time.  Set up cannot begin prior to 9:00 a.m. central.

I will participate in the SEA Art Walk in Mexico Beach on February 18, 2012 and understand and abide by the above Rules of Participation.  I release S.E.A. (Society of Expressive Artists) and all its officers, members and representatives from any and all liabilities.  If an artist is not accepted for any reason, their fee or deposit will be returned to them at the time if their notification. Should the event be canceled for any reason, all monies will be returned to entrants.
